Citing the strengthening economy , the central bank raised its rate to 0.75 per cent from 0.5 per cent in July. This gives the US its strongest quarter since 2015. The report Thursday showed exports expanded 2.3 per cent from April to June, up from 0.4 per cent in the first three months of the year. A day after North Korea fired ballistic missiles into the East Sea over Japan, the United States conducted a successful missile defence test off the coast of Hawaii. Monday's intercept test, like others the US has conducted, was long planned, the MDA said. When the news hit the headlines, another woman approached the police with suspicions that her deceased mother was also murdered by Hoegel. Several people were arrested at Berkeley's Civic Center Park by police who have banned protesters from covering their faces and carrying a variety of items that could be used as weapons. Civic Center Park as police grappled with controlling the crowd and keeping the peace. South Korea's presidential office and military said North Korea fired "several" projectiles in what was presumed to be a test of its 300-millimetre rocket artillery system. Search and rescue operations are continuing Sunday. Timothy McIntosh, who shared the photo on Twitter, said the attention led the La Vita Bella nursing home to the top of the priority list. His wife, Kimberly McIntosh, said her mother sent the picture at 9 a.m. this morning. Although the nursing home residents were rescued, Texas officials are asking those who need rescued not to use social media. (more...)

Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka was ousted from his job in the White House this past week, with Gorka claiming on Friday he resigned while the White House insisted otherwise . Gorka had worked on issues related to counter terrorism, Qatar crisis, designing new security strategy for US. Mr Gorka, 47, was born in London and joined the Trump campaign in 2015 as a paid adviser, according to United States media reports. (more...)

A special CBI court said it will pronounce its verdict in a rape case against the Godman Gurmeet Ram Raheem and the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda on August 25. Also 22 trains in Haryana have been cancelled.
