Taylor Swift Got A Whole Ass Song Dissing Kanye West

Rather than play another Reputation track after "New Year's Day", Swift played a handsome rendition of Tom Petty's "American Girl", opting to take it slower and remain seated at the piano.

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things may be an enjoyable slice of pettiness, but the album's crown jewel of gossip is Getaway Car, which sees Swift in full storyteller mode as she chronicles using one doomed relationship to escape another.

Here, we've rounded up six sneaky references T.Swift could be making to Kanye with the song below.

"When this album comes out, gossip blogs will scour the lyrics for the men they can attribute to each song, as if the inspiration for music is as simple and basic as a paternity test", she wrote. "/ This is why we can't have nice things". She even chose not to host her annual Fourth of July bash in Rhode Island, much to the disappointment of the Swifties. In the chorus, she repeatedly states that she "don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me". "Trouble, trouble, trouble", Taylor Swift theatrically emphasized over the couple-years-too-late wobbles. The brief explanation is this: Kanye stormed the stage when Taylor won "Best Female Video" over Beyoncé. "It was so nice being friends again / There I was, giving you a second chance / But you stabbed me in the back while shaking my hand", she sings.

It doesn't take a detective to decipher that Swift is referring to the infamous phone call over the lyrics to his song "Famous", which involved Kim Kardashian West leaking an conversation between the Grammy victor and her husband last summer. The 27-year-old pop star is savvy enough to know that, and she's attempted to spin it in her favour on this album cycle - from adopting snake imagery in video teasers and merch to literally killing off all her previous public personas in the video for "Look What You Made Me Do". "And therein lies the issues, friends don't try to trick you, get you on the phone and mind twist you" reads Taylor's lyrics, which is self-explanatory.

She references the calls again in 'This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things'. Instead of an array of songs potentially referencing different ex-lovers, the majority of Reputation is dedicated to a single subject, whom Swift is still (as far as fans know) happily dating. Even more quickly than the masses latched onto the pop perfection of 2014's 1989 (like, in addition to the masses of tweens and country fans that launched the singer's career by picking up millions of her first four albums), they've hopped off the bandwagon.
