Arvind Kejriwal's stolen Blue Wagon R auto recovered

Arvind Kejriwal's lost blue Wagon R car found abandoned in Ghaziabad

The iconic blue WagonR associated with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, which was stolen from outside the Delhi Secretariat two days ago, was found abandoned in Ghaziabad on Saturday.

Arvind Kejriwal said in his letter to Mr. Baijal which reads,"My Wagon-R auto was stolen outside the Delhi Secretariat". Based on CCTV footage from near the Delhi Secretariat - which had shown the vehicle being stolen on Thursday - the anti-auto-theft squad (AATS) of the central district is trying to identify the person who stole the vehicle. "We are verifying the engine and chassis number". Delhi Police has said that they will soon go and recover the vehicle.

"The teams also questioned scrap dealers, who used to purchase old cars, for clues about the missing auto". The letter stated that the theft of his auto points towards the rapidly "deteriorating" law and order situation in the national capital. Though the Uttar Pradesh Police have retrieved Closed Circuit camera footage of the auto being abandoned, they have not yet been able to identify the thief. A sword has been found in the car's back seat.

"The auto we recovered from Mohan Nagar early Saturday morning bears registration number 'DL9CG-9769.' It seems to be the same vehicle".

Special Delhi police teams were sent to Noida, Ghaziabad, Mathura and Meerut, he said. "It was parked outside and went missing around 1 am".

Kejriwal's blue Wagon-R, which he used till the 2015 assembly election and in many ways helped cement his "aam aadmi" image, was stolen from outside the Delhi Secretariat yesterday.

Following this, police officials have started circulating the pictures of the accused in the different areas in Delhi.

The vehicle was registered in AAP's name and was being used by party's media coordinator Vandana Singh.
