BlackBerry Motion officially announced as a full-touch smartphone

BlackBerry Motion aka Krypton image leaks launch could be imminent

A few images of the BlackBerry Motion surfaced a few days back and now TCL has officially launched the smartphone in an e-commerce show at the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai.

Motion, unlike its predecessor, BlackBerry KEYone, will not come with a physical keyboard. This is the fifth Android phone so far by BlackBerry, following the BlackBerry Priv, DTEK50, DTEK60, and the BlackBerry KEYOne. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and has a front-facing fingerprint scanner.

The BlackBerry Motion also features a range of security suites that smartphones from the iconic Canadian company have grown known for. It sports a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with DragonTrail Glass protection and a physical home button below the display. Instead, the Motion flaunts a 5.5-inch LCD touchscreen display. The smartphone gets the power from an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB of default memory space.

The BlackBerry Motion will only be available in select markets and is going on sale in the United Arab Emirates for around $460/£350.

If past releases are anything to go by, the BlackBerry Motion could have a release date in some markets before its worldwide launch.

Alongside the battery, the phone comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, which enables up to a 50% charge in roughly 40 minutes using a USB Type-C charger. The selfie cam is an 8 megapixel f/2.2 shooter.

Rumours suggest that the new all-touch device from TCL under the BlackBerry moniker will sport a water and dust resistant design. Their much vaunted DTEK by BlackBerry security software will also be present on the phone.

An official announcement of the new smartphone BlackBerry Motion, for the last two weeks flashed on the teaser and rendering.
