Meghan McCain becomes the newest host of 'The View'

Meghan McCain daughter of U.S. Senator John Mc Cain and host of

Meghan McCain is reportedly set to join "The View". The daughter of Senator John McCain describes herself as a "Blonde Republican" who takes a more liberal view on many social issues. The 32-year-old announced her exit from Fox News' "Outnumbered", which she had co-hosted since November, on September 15, stating that she was "leaving to focus on other things".

As fans of the hit show are definitely informed, Jedediah Bila, who used to be the conservative voice on the panel left after one year on The View and Meghan is now the one replacing her.

The timing was flawless, as McCain, 32, announced last week she was leaving her Fox News gig. She will represent a conservative voice on the panel that's now composed of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Paula Faris, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin.

ABC declined to comment on McCain.

"The View" has had its fair share of lineup changes over the years.

According to Variety, McCain was tapped because the show been missing a strong conservative viewpoint since Elisabeth Hasselbeck left in 2013. Executive producer and former panelist Barbara Walters retired in 2014, and the show has included Rosie O'Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez, Raven-Symoné, Michelle Collins and Candace Cameron Bure among its panelists.

"The View" has seen improved ratings this month with big-name guests joining the panelists. Perhaps, McCain could be facing off with her other co-hosts like Goldberg on the show.
