Walt Disney World reopening today after Irma

Disney World honeymooners caught up in Hurricane Irma

According to CNBC, Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) is planning on opening on Tuesday while SeaWorld Entertainment Inc (NYSE:) issued a statement saying it would reopen its Orlando park Tuesday.

Walt Disney World reopened Tuesday along with Universal Orlando after Hurricane Irma forced the amusement parks to close for two days.

All the magic of Harry Potter and fairy godmothers could not keep trees from being knocked down in the Animal Kingdom and flooding at the Grand Floridian Resort and Epcot Park, but Disney World does not expect significant damage. But there is a lot of minimal damage - think overturned trees, broken signs, lawn chairs all over the place, and so many branches and leaves, according to Yahoo.

The Disney parks, which were closed Sunday and Monday, opened at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

"We are beginning an initial assessment of our property", a Disney World spokeswoman told the Los Angeles Times on Monday morning.

While Disney will reopen its four main parks, Disney World Resort's two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, will remain closed.

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have battered Comcast.

Universal spokesman Schroder also said: 'We can not guarantee resort amenities or access to electricity during severe weather'.

Universal's PR department sent out a release stating that they would resume operations today at 9 a.m.

Universal joins Disney World in announcing its reopening tomorrow. For all parks, guests are encouraged to check our websites and follow our social media channels for more updates.

The theme parks were shut down on Sunday as former Hurricane Irma was approaching the Orlando area.

If you're traveling to Walt Disney World Resorts, you can stay up to date with park closures and cancellations here.
