IPhone X, iPhone 8 names appear in Apple software codes

Apple iPhone 8 will be Equipped with Face ID or Facial Recognition Feature

Apple's iPhone 8 is set for a reveal on the 12th of September, and given the leaks we've seen so far, it's safe to assume that unless Apple has been trolling us all this while, we more or less know what to expect.

Once a face is detected, iOS 11 will assist users in framing the shot and aligning their features accordingly, as evidenced via the video below.

But that's the least of the hidden treasures in this batch.

Portrait Lighting is one of the new enhanced features found in iOS 11 and it is based on the original Portrait mode effect on iPhones for creating DSLR-like shots, using depth of field under varying lighting conditions. This feature has been included in some Android devides, and is especially useful if the fingerprint reader is not easily accessible, *ahem* Samsung *ahem*. Initially rumoured to be Phone Edition or simply 8, this high-end version of Apple's annual flagship line up is special in many ways.

The leak also seems to confirm what we've suspected previously, that the iPhone X will ditch the Home button entirely.

Apple's Dependence On The iPhone Could Become Problematic

A leaked setup animation (seen above) shows off how iPhone 8 owners will need to move their face around for the smartphone's front camera as Face ID scans it.

Apple-centric site 9to5Mac is now going hands-on with the iOS 11 GM and the leaked software contains features that aren't available in the iOS 11 beta 10 for developers or iOS 10 beta 9 for those in the Beta Software Program.

Apple's upcoming and close to final version of iOS 11 has leaked revealing some new information about the highly anticipated iPhone due next week.

"Face ID" will allow users of the phone to unlock the home screen, and also allow facial expressions to be converted into Emoji's. Next up: new and confirmed features coming to the OLED iPhone... The change will mean you'll get more vibrant colors with greater dynamic range and deeper blacks, but also increased brightness and greater power efficiency since each pixel only lights up when it's turned on (not black).

Apple will also likely announce a shipping date for its Mac operating system, macOS High Sierra. Earlier this month, the New York Times actually claimed that one of its private sources is saying that the standard 64GB iPhone 8 model will cost $999.
