Allo for web arrives, but only available for Chrome browser for now

Allo for web looks to be about to launch with new link in app sidebar

Google Allo web version: Google's Instant messaging application Allo finally arrives on the web for desktop users. Perhaps Google saw the app's lack of support for desktops was a major factor in the market performance of the app, which is why we have a new Google Allo for Web. Likewise, if you're intentionally blocking the Allo app from running in the background on your Android handset for any reason, you'll need to stop doing so if you're planning on using Allo For Web.

That's it! You can start using the Allo app on the browser.

Google Allo can now be accessed through your web browser. Amidst the crowd of messaging apps, do users care about Allo's web version? Likewise, the Allo support page for the web client is also not live yet, also giving a "Sorry, this page can not be found" error.

It resembles WhatsApp Web service.

Not so long ago, Google Duo, another app that was launched alongside Allo and specifically handles voice and video calls, clocked the 100 million mark in terms of Play Store downloads. From that point, you will have to scan the QR Code.

Google launched the Allo Messenger a year ago to Android and iOS devices. From here, you'll select "Scan QR code". While the idea of an Allo web interface sounds exciting in theory, in reality it's just another Google messaging platform to ignore.

If you want to try Allo for web yourself, just head to this link and follow the instructions. Although, we also admit Google Allo should have had this feature a lot earlier.

Do you use Allo?

Google Allo for web only shows what's on the Google Allo app on your phone.

Allo for the web is a breeze to set up, but you'll need your phone. Again, this is only available for Android devices for now, but the landing page does indicate that iPhones will be supported down the line.
