Some hope California winner of $447M Powerball helps area

But Matthew Alberre, the owner of Marietta Liquor & Deli, said his family is excited about getting $1 million for selling the lucky ducat in Menifee, Calif.

A SOLE winning lottery ticket in the United States has bagged the entire £350 million jackpot, officials have confirmed.

Lottery officials said one winning ticket was sold in Riverside County, though it's not clear if more than one ticket matched all five numbers plus the Powerball.

The store is located in the midst of Sun City, a retirement community off Interstate 215 in Menifee, about 70 miles north of San Diego.

According to the California Lottery website, the ticket was sold at Marietta Liquor & Deli.

The jackpot is the tenth biggest in USA history and has odds of winning that are one in 292 million.

The winning numbers are 20-26-32-38-58 with a Powerball number of 3.

Alberre says the store just off a highway caters to retirees who live in Sun City and motorists who are passing through. Miller said the estimated jackpot prize is based on a victor choosing an annuity, which pays off over 29 years.

The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing will be 40-million-dollars.

The odds of winning Saturday's drawing were one in 292.2 million. The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. The cash prize would be $273.1 million.

No one has won the jackpot since April 1, thus the reason for its large size.
